  • Cinnamon – is an effective antiviral and antibiotic. Mix one tablespoon with one teaspoon of honey and stir to make a spicy tea that helps lower a fever, and relieve cough and congestion.

  • Nettle Leaves – is an essential herb for illness treatment. It removes toxins and helps keep the body hydrated. Chock full of vitamins and trace minerals, it makes a powerful immune supporting natural remedy. Try it as a tea mixed with red raspberry leaf and peppermint.
  • Chamomile – is an absolute staple, especially for kids. Chamomile reduces inflammation and fever, calms the nerves, and helps children sleep better. A potent mix of camomile flowers steeped in hot water can be used externally as well as ingested as a tea. In addition to fighting colds and flus, it’s great for regulating hormones.
  • Peppermint – an excellent antimicrobial and antiviral herb that helps lower fevers and treat digestive disturbances. It can be used as a tea or rubbed onto the skin to reduce a high fever. Try is as a hot or cold brewed tea.
  • Dried Rosehip Fruit – in addition to vitamin C, rose hips contain vitamins A, B1, B2, E and K and beta-carotene. Steeped as a tea, these little gems are also effective in preventing and fighting infections and inflammations.
  • Exotic Tea – tea is the most basic natural remedy for a cold or flu. Any tea will do the trick, but if you’re drinking it for medicinal purposes, why not choose something that also tastes good.
